2nd Collaboration - RHV

December 3, 2020

After the first collaborative artwork “Earth Spirit” was a major success, Roy Henry Vickers and I are pleased to create and release a new artwork.

” YIN YANG “

“It’s been a year since Lizzie Snow and I teamed up to create something unique. Here we are again with a progression from our first mandala, it’s been a very exciting project.

I appreciate our collaboration on many levels, such as, elder and younger artists working together, male and female bringing ideas to inspire each other and, the fusion of two different styles.

I’ve learned that inspiration is divine and the end result of working with inspiration is a creation that is greater than the sum of all the parts. Lizzie, you are inspiring, thank you.”

Artwork story
Yin and Yang is a concept that demonstrates how opposite energies can be complementary, two halves that together are whole.

In this 2nd collaborative artwork between Roy Henry Vickers and Lizzie Snow ‘fortyonehundred’, the two artists came together to create an artwork that demonstrates the power of yin and yang.

Each being carries qualities of both yin and yang within, one of which is usually slightly more dominant. When we learn to balance the energies within ourselves, we can find balance and peace in harmony.

This artwork, “Yin Yang”, illustrates contrasting symbology coming together as one. Feminine and masculine, the introverted and extroverted patterning and alternating rings of colour. Each of these elements are separate and, in a sense, opposing, unified together in one cohesive cyclical balance.

The rain-like graphics on the outer circle represent the infinite, as they continue beyond the artwork edge. Finding peace is a process, a journey that never ends. We never ‘arrive’, instead we continue to strive to seek balance and harmony within our lives.
